THAILAND TRAVELS: A Journal
PATTAYA (cont'd) Page 20
SATURDAY 26th October 2013:
Quiet day but hectic evening and night. Met up with Aom's friend Dow and her Canadian bf Martin at the Beer Garden. Had a meal there and moved on; did several bars and then went back to their condo at Na-Kluea at around 03:00. Very late night; finally got to bed around 05:30.
The two photos above show Aom and her friend Dow in the left-hand one and seated either side of me at one of the rotating bars. Although they don't spin very quickly it gets a little disconcerting after a few beers. Fun though.
MONDAY 28th and TUESDAY 29th:
Both days mid 30's hot and sunny.
Nothing special about these two days apart from the fact that on Monday Madam conned me out of:-
A new dress.
Two lots of lipstick.
A fancy fan (the type ladies of leisure waft themselves with).
A pair of "Gucci" sunglasses
A pair of "Ray Ban" sunglasses
Oh yes, and "Rolex" AND "Omega" fashion watches.
So, all-in-all, a pretty ordinary day really... maybe not. See below:-

Here's Aom in a new fashion designer outfit. Should hit the UK High Street within the next month or so. A very expensive design-statement, don't you think?
And, NO, this is NOT the dress mentioned above! This one was somewhat cheaper.
WEDNESDAY 30th:
Went down to Na Kluea beach again on Wed morning. Usual spot under the mangroves. Evening spent eating out at the "barbecue" place mentioned on earlier pages.
Thursday 31st:
Well it had to happen one day. Having spent over a collective 18 months living in Thailand I have never had any tummy-troubles.... until now.
Woke up in the early hours feeling dreadful and gtting worse. Suffice to say I was losing a lot of fluid from more than one place. By mid afternoon I was near normal again. I ate mainly salad stuff last night and I suspect the culprit was possibly the two large helpings of kidney beans which, if not properly cooked, can retain toxins in the outer skin. Either that or one of the salad items.
Getting very hot again; 35º today. Too hot to go out so will leave that until tonight when there's some Halloweeny types of stuff going on downtown.
In the meantime here's a couple of photos of a recent terrible plane crash here in Pattaya.....
..... Of course it aint real! It's a mock up 'glued' the wall of the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya.
This is also where you can board that big gas-balloon for a 'flight' mentioned in an earlier page:-

TOP LEFT: Breakfast on the beach at Na Kluea. Both corn and 'insects' were very fresh and delicious. Sorry about the half-gnawed corn; my fault.
TOP RIGHT: Khemjira about to attack her breakfast.
BOTTOM LEFT: Just a shot of the working part of this beach; local fishing boats. The cove we use is in the background just beyond the distant palm-trees and rock outcrop.
BOTTOM RIGHT: Spot the penguin!
Khemjira with some new fishy friends... don't know how they got to Thailand?? :-)
To be honest after living here in Pattaya for two months, it's beginning to wear a little thin.
This may sound odd seeing as Pattaya is a resort but we could do with a holiday! Don't get me wrong, Pattaya is jam-packed with fun; you genuinely can have the time of your life here. Pattaya's a big very vibrant city but enough is enough. So I'll see if we can get away for a few days. Thailand's a big country and there's a lot even Aom hasn't seen. Not decided yet where to go.... so watch this space.
[November 12th.... decision made; see Page 24.
Friday 1st November:
After a noisy Halloween night which terminated at 4 o'clock in the morning, it was a late awakening. Aom was clearly not speaking to me this morning and it as patently clear I'd imbibed a little too much Chang. I did start drinking the more moderate Singha but I seemed to have strayed. Apparently I was bit "naughty" last night (can't remember but I was vividly reminded by Madam).
But today's the day when the household bills are to be paid:
Rent, electric, water bills and bike rental all at once on the same day (yawn). Even here there’s no escape from everyday reality.
