BANGKOK

FRIDAY 3rd APRIL:
Our last full day in Thailand on this visit.
Up later than usual following our late night/early morning fun. Breakfast was chaotic as it inundated by a hoard from the Indian sub-continent. All seemed to get food at the same time; the result very little food available. Also, there wasn't a single table vacant or if there was one it hadn't been cleared. This was compounded by a staff shortage. End result; chaos.
I asked one of the staff to clear a table which she did and put a "Reserved" note on it. In the end as the mob dissipated, we got food. A case of bad timing on our behalf.
A lazy morning and it was at least 11:00am before we got motivated. Walked down to Sukhumvit Road and got the BTS from Nana to Siam. The idea was to visit the MBK Center because Aom wanted particular make-up item which are available in this enormous complex of malls.
Back on the BTS which was absolutely jam-packed across the city past Nana to Aon Nut station. Down on street level in the 36º heat to a small market. This time Aom was after anew pair of shoes. Her problem is that she has larger feet than normal for a Thai lady. In UK, she has no trouble finding her size, but inevitably here in Thailand every pair of shoes she takes a liking to are unavailable in her size., poor lass.
Back on the Skytrain again to Nana and back to the same massage parlour as yesterday for a lovely 1-hour foot massage.
Evening: Back on the BTS 1 station to Asok. Dined in a small restaurant in Soi 23 off Sukhumvit. Following this we wandered down the infamous Soi Cowboy and had a swift Tiger beer. Then back on the BTS and to the apartment for a relatively early and sober night.
